ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT

We are looking for an experienced software architect to join our team of Engineers building and maintaining the Doxee Enterprise Communication Platform. Their mission is to design enterprise-grade, distributed, reliable software applications, develop prototypes and experiment on new technologies and programming languages to improve Doxee’s software asset.

The position will be based in Modena, Italy.

Key Competencies

Reporting to the Director of Product Development, this position will join a team of talented Engineers that develop and maintain Doxee’s software asset in coordination with the functional requirements expressed by Product Management and in close relationship with internal DevOps teams that deploy and run the platform.

The primary responsibilities are:

  • Design the architecture of enterprise-grade, cloud applications part of Doxee’s asset;
  • Work in synergy with SCRUM masters within the Product Development team and with DevOps Engineers from the Infrastructure team;
  • Contribute to building the new applications or required changes; and
  • Experiment on new technologies and writing prototypes for architectural changes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with building distributed JEE applications;
  • Proven record of development with AGILE teams using SCRUM or Kanban;
  • Knowledge of Software Engineering and Development practices;
  • Proven experience with DevOps techniques applied to cloud services with major vendors (AWS, Google, Microsoft, Salesforce);
  • Proficiency in Linux and Unix operating systems;
  • Experience working with software development tools such as Ant, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Bamboo; and
  • English working proficiency.

Desirables

  • Experience in developing Process Automation software (e.g. Ansible);
  • Experience with RedHat EAP, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic;
  • Experience with Oracle DBA;
  • Proficiency in Python and JavaScript;
  • Experience with developing applications based on BPM technologies (e.g. Activity, jBPM);
  • Experience in Customer Communication Management and/or Digital Marketing Markets;
  • Proven abilities to solve problems, learn new environments, consistently produce quality work and be customer oriented;
  • Ability to work with a flexible schedule to accommodate multiple time zones;
  • Ability to travel internationally for up to 2 weeks; and
  • Propensity for learning and coaching technical people.

The successful candidate will be employed in Doxee’s Modena, Italy office and/or be working remotely.

 

JUNIOR DEVELOPER

Reporting to the SCRUM Master of one of Doxee’s development teams, this position will join a team of talented Engineers that develop and maintain Doxee’s software asset in coordination with the functional requirements expressed by Product Management and in close relationship with internal DevOps teams that deploy and run the platform. The position also includes constant training both from the colleagues’ experience and formal class training on new technologies.

The primary responsibilities are:

  • Receive, analyze and improve the requirements formulated by Doxee’s product owners;
  • Develop the requirements by following agile methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban;
  • Experiment on new technologies and writing prototypes for architectural changes.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented programming and academic-level development experience;
  • At least one past experience of software development as part of the current occupation or past academic project; ability to SWOT such experience during an interview;
  • Knowledge of Software Engineering and Development practices;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related practice;
  • Propensity for innovation as proven by past academic experiences; and
  • English working proficiency.

Desirables

  • Willingness to become full-stack developer or DevOps;
  • Proficiency in Linux and Unix operating systems;
  • Knowledge of Java, Python, and JavaScript;
  • Knowledge of industry-standard frontend development technologies;
  • Proven abilities to solve problems, learn new environments, consistently produce quality work; and
  • Ability to travel internationally for up to 2 weeks.

 

SENIOR DEVELOPER

Reporting to the SCRUM Master of one of Doxee’s development teams, this position will join a team of talented Engineers that develop and maintain Doxee’s software asset in coordination with the functional requirements expressed by Product Management and in close relationship with internal DevOps teams that deploy and run the platform.

The primary responsibilities are:

  • Receive, analyze and improve the requirements formulated by Doxee’s product owners;
  • Develop the requirements by following agile methodologies such as SCRUM or Kanban;
  • Contribute to the definition of the product’s architecture;
  • Work in synergy with DevOps Engineers from the Infrastructure team; and
  • Experiment on new technologies and writing prototypes for architectural changes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with building distributed JEE applications OR proven experience in building Web Application UIs using industry-standard frameworks;
  • Proven record of development with AGILE teams using SCRUM or Kanban;
  • Knowledge of Software Engineering and Development practices;
  • Experience working with software development tools such as Ant, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Bamboo;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related practice; and
  • English working proficiency.
